Profile
Profile holds your personal identity in ARGUS — the one other operators see on the map, in chat, on PTT, and across every operation. Reach it from the user menu in the top-right, or from Settings → Profile.
The page has two panels: a global profile and, if you belong to more than one organisation, a per-organisation override panel below it.
Global profile
Global fields apply everywhere until an org override replaces them.
Identity
- Display name — your real name. Required, max 64 chars. What shows in menus and chat threads.
- Username — short handle. Required, max 32 chars. Used as a stable identifier in mentions.
- Callsign — your radio handle. Required, max 32 chars. Shown on
asset chips, PTT ticker, and voice-to-text attribution. Keep it short
(
ALPHA-1,KILO-6,DISPATCH). - Email — read-only on this screen. Changing it is a workspace-administrator action; contact your org admin.
Appearance
- Operative type — picks the icon used for your avatar badge and map pin: Operative, Pilot, Admin, Spectator, or GCS. Each ships its own tactical SVG.
- Asset colour — the accent used on your avatar ring, callsign chip,
map pin, chat bubble border, and PTT waveform. Pick from the twelve
presets (
#2762eablue through to#ffd32ayellow and#ffffff) or enter any hex in the Custom hex field, or use the native colour picker swatch. The preview updates live as you type.
There is no avatar image upload in the current build — the avatar is built from your name initial, colour, and operative-type SVG. A photo upload slot is on the roadmap.
Saving
Click Save changes. A green banner confirms the write; the new values propagate to your live sessions within a second. Required fields fail client-side before a write is attempted.
Per-organisation overrides
If you are a member of more than one org, the Organization profile section appears. Each org gets its own tab showing the org name and your role. The three fields you can override per org:
- Display name — useful when your legal name and the name your customer-facing org uses differ.
- Callsign — most operators keep their global callsign, but an
attached agency might require
FED-3instead of their home-teamKILO-6. - Asset colour — pick a preset, enter hex, or click the ✕ swatch to clear and fall back to the global colour.
Placeholders in the override form show your current global value so you can see exactly what will be inherited if you leave a field blank. Click Save changes in that panel to persist.
Org overrides only apply inside that org’s operations. Switching the active org swaps the effective identity automatically.
Timezone and language
Timezone is not configured here — ARGUS uses the browser’s timezone everywhere times are rendered, so change it in your OS if you need to.
Language is global and lives in App settings → Interface. Choices: EN (English) and ES (Spanish). Switching is instant and re-renders every visible string.
Default organisation
If you are a multi-org member, the Default org is the one ARGUS lands you in after sign-in. Set it with the star icon on the org tab. It is persisted per browser via the org service.
